Who Are Kernow Home Cleans

We are a family-run cleaning company based in Cornwall, more specifically in the quiet village of Illogan near Redruth and just a 5 minute drive from Portreath Beach.

Our Experience

We have been involved in cleaning, either directly or indirectly in a professional capacity for over 15 years, and more directly for 7+ years having been involved in retail management and healthcare supervisory and management positions.

The training we have undertaken includes certifications in COSHH (Control Of Substances Hazardous To Health) and certifications in a healthcare environment, including COVID-19 awareness, deep cleaning, disinfection and prevention, along with standard cleaning practices.

Our extensive experience has transferred well to cleaning in a private, professional capacity.

Jon and Delennyk (Delly) are the owners of Kernow Home Cleans. When you get in touch, we are the first point of contact, so you can be assured we will do our best to help in any way we can.

When you book one of our services, it is most likely that you will meet us face-to-face as we complete most cleans ourselves, although we do have a small team to help us out at busy times, or to complete smaller jobs.

We often get asked similar questions so we have compiled a list of the most common below with a brief answer. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you would like to ask us something else.

We cover all areas of Cornwall.

We provide quotes based on the service you choose and they will vary based on how long the job will take and the condition of the property.

Where a very small, and only slightly dirty property may cost approximately £150 for a Deep Clean, or End Of Tenancy clean, a larger property that is extremely dirty can cost £600+.

Typical quotes tend to range from £250 – £400.

Carpet cleans have a minimum charge and depending on whether we carry it out ourselves, or request our carpet cleaner to carry out the job, prices can vary from £50 – £70 minimum which covers the call out and up to 2 carpets. Each extra carpet will cost an additional £10 – £20 depending on size.

Oven clean prices vary depending on the type and size. Costs typically range from £45 for a single oven and up to £120+ for a large range or double oven with hob and extractor. You can find a full price list on the Oven Cleaning Service page

Booking is easy, simply complete our comprehensive quotation form with as much detail as possible about the property and service you require.

We will provide you with a free estimate and if you are happy and we are available, we can book you in using the details you have already provided.

On booking, we do ask for a 70% deposit, and if the cleaning takes less time than expected, we will refund the difference as soon as the job is complete. If the job takes the expected time (or longer and you have agreed to it) we will invoice you for the outstanding amount.

We ask that invoices be settled within 7 days of receipt so that we can pay other members of the team on time and replenish materials and chemicals used.

We have public liability insurance which covers any injuries that you may suffer from us or any damage we do to your property, but rest assured, we are very careful and have yet to cause any injuries to our customers or damage to their property.

While we advise you to book as early as you can (even months in advance where possible) due to very busy periods, we are always on call to fit in a job at short notice, often going out the same day.

If we are already cleaning when you call, we are happy to work into the evening if the clean is desperately required at short notice, and at no extra charge for unsociable hours.

We aim to ensure that every property we clean is done to the same high standards and have so far retained 100% customer satisfaction, however, if we have missed an area which is cleanable, we are happy to come back at no charge to rectify our mistake.

It is important to remember that not everything is cleanable, and while our equipment can clean most areas to a high standard, paintwork and wood can absorb stains and any attempt to clean them will result in the removal of paint and damage to the wood.

While we try to clean all areas, those that remain dirty are beyond saving and will typically need to be redecorated instead.

For our End Of Tenancy and Deep Cleans, we set a minimum time of 6 hours for very small properties that are already quite clean and require a once over, but most properties require 2 people for at least 5 hours (10 hours total) and typically 8-10 hours (16-20 hours in total) for a thorough clean throughout.

Small Domestic cleans require a minimum of 3 hours with 1 cleaner.

We do occasionally reduce prices on some of our services and we would love to let our customers know about them.
